A hot dip galvanising plant has existed on the current site in Napier for approximately thirty years. The plant was however closed down in the mid 1990s for approximately 2 years. In 1997 a locally owned company, Galvanising (HB) Limited was created and set about re-opening the plant. New management was introduced and many of the experienced galvanisers re-employed.

Since 1997 the company has continued to grow and with a new galvanising kettle added in 2000, now has the third largest kettle in the country (Length 8100mm, Width 1400mm, Depth 2000mm).

The company currently employs sixteen staff and has clients from as far afield as Wellington through to Tauranga.
